Through our efforts to understand the residents’ harvesting of turtles, we realised that to protect wildlife, communities need alternative means of sustenance. Tilapia fish farms can provide locals with a reliable source of nutritional fish and an opportunity to sell fish at local markets, creating revenue for families.
